What does the Bible say about Astrology?
Divination is actually considered a serious sin. The Bible says in 1 Samuel 15:23: "For rebellion is as the sin of divination, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, he has also rejected you from being king."
When King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream, he sent for magicians, sorcerers and astrologers to tell him what he had dreamed of. How did they respond? "The Chalde'ans answered the king, "There is not a man on earth who can meet the king's demand; for no great and powerful king has asked such a thing of any magician or enchanter or Chalde'an." (Daniel 2:10).
Babylonian astrologers were unable to help the king with his disturbing dream. However, God blessed his godly prophet Daniel with the true gifts of the Holy Spirit, and he was brought before the king to interpret the dream. The Bible says in Daniel 2:27-28: "Daniel answered the king, "No wise men, enchanters, magicians, or astrologers can show to the king the mystery which the king has asked, but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and he has made known to King Nebuchadnez'zar what will be in the latter days. Your dream and the visions of your head as you lay in bed ... " Only God's anointed Daniel was able to describe and explain the prophetic dream to the king.
What does the Bible say about Horoscopes?
The horoscope prediction does not come from God's revelation. Only God knows the future but the horoscope says that he can predict the future without God (Isaiah 44:7-8).
Consulting horoscopes is a sin. Consulting horoscopes is a form of divination, a practice condemned by the Bible. The future is not defined by the stars. Believing in the horoscope is believing a lie.
What does the Bible say about knowing your future and the general future?
Consulting the horoscope is a way to practice divination (Deuteronomy 18:10-12). In addition to being based on unsubstantiated superstition, this is putting the horoscope in the place of God. Only God knows us completely and can give us guidance for the future. Our future is not tied to predictions based on the stars.
What does the star of Belem mean?
Popular tradition believes that the star of Bethlehem was a comet, being represented imagery in nativity scenes and images about the birth of Christ with a huge tail.
One of the first studies on the star of Bethlehem, carried out by the French priest Albert Lagrange, suggests that the phenomenon would be Comet Halley in approach to Earth. However, later studies claim that it would be impossible, as Halley would have passed close to the planet around the year 12 BC, long before the supposed period in which Christ would have been born (between 7 BC and 2 BC).
Other studies say that the star of Bethlehem was the consequence of the effect of a rare phenomenon of conjunction between the planets Jupiter and Saturn with the star Regulus, considered the largest in the constellation of Leo. The approach of these celestial bodies in the firmament, would have produced a quite intense light effect.
